It has been a few days since Christmas, and I am wondering if most people are officially “sweeted” out. Ya know, over the cookies, cakes, and pies you have inevitably consumed since Thanksgiving and Christmas. Well, I might not be quite there but I sure am close. So this is where this Mariano’s orange sorbet mimosa recipe stepped in.
I realize that the New Year always brings a chance to change our habits and get back in the saddle with a healthier lifestyle. While you may see some calorie and carb-laden desserts on this blog, I do love to switch it up and share desserts that won’t kill your diets or make you regret enjoying life just a bit. In fact, I plan to share a lot of healthier desserts early next year, starting with this one featuring Mariano’s new healthy key, along with doing a three day juice fast (Yep I just wrote it and am already scared to death!).
So with New Year’s Eve coming right around the corner, I knew that an idea for something healthy and delicious to enjoy during your countdown would be perfect so I turned to Mariano’s for help. Mariano’s has a new health key system which is just incredible!
The health key is the perfect way to stay on track. I was able to check out labels for organic, gluten free, sugar free, lean, vegan and more and know exactly what I was getting myself into before heading to check out. To learn more about the health key and Mariano’s other new ventures, follow them on Facebook and Twitter. I was quite impressed as I made my way through the grocery store and saw the unlimited options awaiting me. I picked up some organic honey, agave nectar, a few beautiful oranges, some sparkling champagne and some other groceries and was on my way.

This sorbet mixture took me less than five minutes to throw together. It was in my ice cream maker before I knew it. Once it was frozen, I simply added scoops to my glasses and poured a sparkling wine over it. Then, I was ready to get the party started.
So Cheers to a New Start and a New Year! And with a little help from Mariano’s, you can stay healthy and still stay sweet!

Loooove Florida Crystals sugar for some reason. The price is great, too. And adding sorbet just makes perfect sense. Happy New Year!
I loved adding in the sorbet. It really took it up a notch. Happy New Year Bren!
I love mimosas, especially when they’re healthy enough to enjoy in large(r) quantities. 😀
