I hate to admit this, but I’m not the greatest gift giver. It’s not that I don’t like to give gifts, I just struggle with finding the right gift. Does that make sense? Every year, the holiday season rolls around, and I find myself agonizing over candles vs. socks, kitchenware vs. books and whatever else I’ve queued up on that year’s gift guide.
I’d love to say that I make up for my gifting-impairment by being ahead of the game, but, y’all, I’d be lying if I did. Yes, I let that last minute pressure build until POP, I’m forced into a decision that I’m (semi) confident in.

Ready? What are you waiting for? Run and grab the ingredients then!
- Florida’s Natural No Pulp Orange Juice is bright and full of flavor! This juice not only adds a pop of zingy, tangy taste but it also makes for that gorgeous color.
- White Chocolate Chips are sweet, creamy and luscious. I recommend using a high-quality chocolate for the best result. Ghirardelli, Baker’s and Guittard are all fantastic options.
- Salted Butter adds a smooth, slightly salty decadence. If preferred, unsalted butter can be used, just be sure to supplement with a small pinch of salt.
- Orange Extract offers a more concentrated orange flavor that takes these truffles to the next level.
- Orange Zest works alongside the extract to offer even more delicious orange flavor. If preferred (for textural or flavor reasons), the zest can be omitted.
- Powdered Sugar is a simple way to take the visual representation up notch! Don’t have any on hand? Make your own by using my step-by-step guide!
Storage
- Room Temperature: If you’re planning on devouring them within a day or two, just keep them in an airtight container at room temperature. Choose a spot away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture to keep them in tip-top shape.
- Refrigerate: For a longer shelf life, place the truffles in an airtight container lined with parchment paper to keep them from sticking. They’ll stay good in the fridge for up to two weeks. Just remember to let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving – it brings out the flavors and that melt-in-your-mouth texture.
- Freeze: Got more self-control and want them to last even longer? Freeze ’em! Place the truffles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze until solid. Then, transfer them into an airtight container or a heavy-duty freezer bag. They’ll keep for several months. Thaw by placing them in the fridge for a few hours, then let them stand at room temperature for a bit before serving.

These sound wonderful! I wonder what they’d be like with a bit of chopped dried sweetened cranberries….
Is it ok to double the recipe? I’m not sure 16 will be enough to split between gifts.
Surely!
Florida Natural uses only Florida grown oranges, if buying American is important to you. I suggest you read other labels before buying them. It tastes the best anyway.. Also read the labels on the chocolate, Bakers are peanut free,
I cannot wait to try this recipe! But I have a very stupid question….what is zest of orange?
You take 1 orange and zest it and add that to the recipe. Not stupid. Happy to help.
Orange zest is the colorful outer peel of the fruit which releases flavorful oils with the tiny bit of peel. You can use a microplane if your don’t have one the easiest way to get zest without a microplane is to use a vegetable peeler to take off wide strips. Be careful not to cut past the colored part of the peel—the white pithy layer between the peel and the fruit is bitter. Hope this helps.
You take an orange and scrape the skin very finely with a grater. Don’t use the white pulp or it will be bitter. Hope this helps.
I’m going to use Grand Marnier instead of the extract in half my recipe.
Enjoy!
Would these work if I replaced all the orange stuff with lemon? I have a bad reaction to orange, but lemon seems to be just fine.
Such beautiful truffles! Perfect for the holidays and they sound absolutely amazing with the use of the orange juice and orange extract.
I made these with my kiddos last night. That had so much flavor and was a great use of orange juice.
What a great idea using orange juice to make these truffles. Orange and white chocolate sound like an amazing combination!
This is the flavor combination I didn’t know I needed but I do! These sound marvelous!
These truffles look amazing!! I need to make them for Christmas!
