I fell in love with this skinny chocolate shake. It made me totally change my perspective on something that I adore having as an indulgence.
Ingredients
- Frozen Bananas: These chilly delights are the secret to that thick, creamy texture without the cream!
- Coconut Milk: It’s like your milkshake went on a tropical vacation, bringing back that rich, velvety flow without the dairy woes.
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder: This is where the magic happens, turning your shake into a chocolatey wonderlandโdeep, dark, and full of antioxidants!
- Vanilla Extract: Just a splash of vanilla to tie it all together with that sweet, aromatic caress.
How to Make Skinny Chocolate Milkshakes
Add all ingredients into your heavy duty blender and blend until smooth.
Garnish with chocolate sauce or whipped cream (try coconut whipped cream) and a cherry and serve.
Milkshake Tips
- Banana: The riper the bananas before you freeze them, the sweeter your shake. Make sure they’ve got a few brown spots for that natural sweetness kick.
- Chill: Pop your coconut milk in the fridge a few hours before blending. A colder base means a thicker, more milkshake-like consistency without needing ice that could water it down.
- Cocoa: Don’t skimp on the cocoaโgo for a high-quality unsweetened cocoa powder. It gives you that robust chocolate flavor without added sugars, making it a legit healthy treat.

I’ve tried banana ice cream, but it is so genius to make bananas into a milkshake! The calories in regular milkshakes are CRAZY, but this looks just as tasty!
Love this recipe, healthy & easy!
Thank you so much!
Love a good skinny chocolate milkshake! Looks to die for!
I can’t have banana. ..too much potassium. …is there anything to substitute?
For this milkshake there isn’t a sub because the main ingredient is banana but I have seen some great recipes with yogurt or even avocado that would be great to try!
