Update on my Babycakes pregnancy: 32 Weeks Today!Jocelyn smiling on a beach in Maui dressed in a pink maternity dress at 30 weeks pregnant

32 WEEKS PREGNANT

As I type this, I am 32 weeks pregnant.  Holy moly how on earth did that happen?  Time is seriously ticking by so fast now I can’t keep up.  The months have been crazy busy that I’m realizing that I’m kinda excited about my slow down at the end of December.  I’ve decided that I won’t be doing much work before Christmas and will really cool down before BabyCakes makes her debut.

HYPNOBIRTHING

We just finished our Hypnobirthing class which was so amazing and so calming.  When researching classes including Lamaze and The Bradley Method, this technique really stood out to me.  Of all the anxiety I originally had, childbirth took the cake.  What to expect?  How much pain was it really?  Could I handle it?  These were questions that swirled through my brain for weeks, and Hypnobirthing helped to calm all of that down.  I currently only allow positive birth experiences into my headspace, and I love the visualization and breathing practices we explored during the class as well.  I feel a bit more prepared and calmer about the experience.  Now we just have a little bit of time to get it all down and practice everything so we are ready.  Or as ready as we can be.

BABYMOON

I also just wrapped up my last work trip to NYC for Today Show.  I was so excited that I had an opportunity to do Today Show All-Star Thanksgiving again.  It was such an incredible experience.  I’m excited that was my last flight however.  Before that flight, Frederick and I went on our babymoon to Maui.  Maui is seriously such a magical place so it was even more special to return to where we got married for a week long getaway.

I can’t wait to share all of the amazing foodie adventures we went on but for now, check out these incredible maternity photos we took on the beach.  The photos are from Love + Water Photography, and I fell in love with their photography right away.  Their images are so moving and so emotional, almost poetic.  I knew we had to do a shoot with them when we got to Maui and coincidentally the only date they had available was our wedding anniversary.  Talk about fate!  And then I teamed up with Sew Trendy for my gorgeous dress and Dellables for my incredible floral crown (Della did the flowers for my wedding so she is the master!).

As we get closer to my due date in January, I have been thinking a lot about the type of mother I want to be and how my life is going to change forever in so many ways.  I’m already so amazed how much I love this little girl that I haven’t met yet.  Our bond is unbreakable, and I already feel like I am ready to sacrifice anything and everything for her happiness.  It is unreal how that bond begins to form even before a baby is born.  It is such a blessing, and I feel even more blessed after the difficult time we had in getting pregnant.   I can’t wait to share all that this adventure will reveal to me.  I’m so grateful to have such an incredible support system in my family and friends and also in you.  This community has embraced me in ways I could never imagine.  Thank you for shining your life and giving me all of your love during this new and exciting time!

  1. You will learn the meaning of true, unconditional love the minute you look into her eyes. Cherish and treasure every moment because before you know it, she’ll be taking drivers ed, believe me it seems time flew by and now I’m here. Parenting is the most challenging job you will ever do but absolutely the most rewarding. Sometimes decisions made would hurt your heart to the core but we must learn to allow our children to struggle and then see the fruits of the lesson learned. Congrats and best of luck with everything!
