If there is one dessert I absolutely can’t do without, it is mousse. The texture, the richness and the taste are unforgettable. However, I’m not quite a fan of the effort involved and super indulgent ingredients that usually go into one. That’s why I absolutely love this super quick and Easy Lemon Mousse Recipe I created using greek yogurt.

The Heart and Soul of this Easy Lemon Mousse Recipe

Cuisine Inspiration: Inspired by the light and zesty flair of Mediterranean desserts.

Primary Cooking Method: No-bake, just a simple whisk-and-set.

Dietary Info: Friendly for the gluten-sensitive souls and adaptable for the low-sugar seekers.

Key Flavor: A zesty lemon twist, balanced with the creamy richness of Greek yogurt.

Skill Level: Beginner-friendly!

Sweet Highlights:

  • Quick Fix: This mousse comes together faster than your favorite song on the radio.
  • Healthy-ish Indulgence: Greek yogurt adds a protein punch, making this dessert a guilt-free pleasure.
  • Versatility Queen: Dress it up or down with garnishes to match any occasion.
  • No Sweat Dessert: With no oven time needed, keep your kitchen cool and your brow sweat-free.
  • Crowd-Pleaser: Delightfully light, it’s the perfect finale to any meal that’ll have folks swooning for more.

Ingredients

  • Greek Yogurt: This is your mousse’s canvas. I went with vanilla because its a great base to build upon.
  • Refrigerated Whipped Topping: This makes it fluffy, light and airy.
  • Honey: A drizzle of natural sweetness
  • Pure Lemon Extract: This is where the zing comes in! A few drops and your mousse has wonderful lemony tang.
  • Garnish Game Strong: Lemon zest, fresh mint for a pop of color and berries add color and additional flavor.

How to Make Lemon Mousse

  • Whisk: Start by blending vanilla Greek yogurt with whipped topping, honey, and lemon extract in a bowl until you get a smooth, harmonious mixture.
  • Chill: Scoop that soon-to-be mousse into individual cups and slide them into the refrigerator. Patience as it chills to perfection.
  • Garnish with Panache: Just before serving, crown each cup with a flourish of lemon zest, a sprig of mint, and a gathering of berries for that wow-factor presentation.

How to Store

  • Chill Out: Keep the mousse in the refrigerator until it’s time to serve. It loves the cold and will stay perfectly fluffy and delightful for up to 2 days.
  • Cover Up: Use plastic wrap or a lid to cover the individual cups. This keeps the mousse from absorbing any rogue odors and flavors from the fridge.
  • Last-Minute Magic: For the freshest flavor and texture, add your garnishes just before serving.
