Fruity Pebbles French Toast

I’m a kid at heart.  There’s just no way around it.  Some of the best breakfasts I ever had were when I was little desperately trying to scoop every last ounce of cereal on my spoon.  And I absolutely adored any cereal with funky colors and tons of sugar.  That was complete bliss in my eyes. That was the inspiration for this super fun Fruity Pebbles French Toast that is super fun and delicious.

Ingredients

  • Large Eggs: The undeniable foundation of any legit French toast, giving it that rich, custard-y vibe.
  • Half and Half: This creamy dreamy addition brings extra richness to the party.
  • Granulated Sugar: Just a smidge, to sweeten everything
  • Cinnamon: A dash of spice
  • Crushed Fruity Pebbles (or similar cereal): This, my friends, is where the magic happens. We’re taking your cereal game from 0 to 100, real quick!
  • Slices of Challah: Thick, soft, and begging to be soaked in our egg mixture.
  • Butter: This guarantees a golden, crispy edge that’s just chef’s kiss.

How to Make Fruity Pebbles French Toast

  • Mix It Up: Grab a medium-sized bowl and throw in your eggs, half and half, sugar, and a dash of cinnamon. Whisk it all together until it’s smoother than a chart-topping R&B hit.
  • Pebbles: Take those Fruity Pebbles and spread them out on a plate. You’re setting the stage for greatness, my friend.
  • Butter Up: Get your skillet hot and bothered over a medium-high heat and let that butter melt down.
  • Dip and Flip: Grab a slice of that gorgeous Challah bread, dip it in your egg mixture, letting it soak up the goodness for about 20-30 seconds. Then, press it into the Fruity Pebbles, making sure you’ve got a nice, even coat.
  • Sizzle and Serve: Toss that coated beauty into the skillet and watch it sizzle. You’re aiming for a golden, crispy exterior.

How to Store and Reheat

  • Cool & Store: Allow the French toast to cool completely, then place it in an airtight container. It stays fresh in the fridge for up to 2 days, or in the freezer for a month.
  • Reheat to Eat: When you’re ready for a round two, pop it in the toaster or oven until it’s crispy and warmed through. A microwave works too, but be cautious as it might soften the crust.

Fruity Pebbles French Toast Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup half and half
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • â…” cup crushed fruity pebbles or similar cereal
  • 4 slices Challah
  • 3 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  • In a medium sized bowl, whisk together eggs, half and half, sugar and cinnamon until well combined.
  • On a plate, spread fruity pebbles out evenly.
  • Add butter to a skillet and melt over medium high heat.
  • For assembly, simply dip each bread slice in egg mixture allowing it to absorb for about 20-30 seconds then into pebbles thoroughly coating then add to the skillet. Brown until golden on both sides then serve immediately.
