Y’all I figured out how to make the crispiest crunchiest homemade mozzarella sticks! I swear the crunch is next level, and I didn’t even fry them. I used an air fryer. The cheese comes out gooey and I make that outside crust with breadcrumbs and so much Italian flavor. Dip them in my warm marinara sauce and get your life.

How to Make Mozzarella Sticks

Step 1: Preheat the air-fryer to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set out three small bowls. Add breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper into one bowl and whisk well. Add flour to the second bowl, and beat the eggs in the last one.

Step 2: Coat each mozzarella stick in flour, then egg (allowing the excess to drip off), then into the breadcrumbs then repeat back into the egg and then again finally into the breadcrumbs and rest on the baking sheet. Once all the sticks are ready, spray your air fryer basket with cooking spray.

Step 3: Place 3 of the 12 sticks into the air fryer basket then coat them lightly with cooking spray. Any more and you will overcrowd them. Cook for 6 minutes, rotating halfway through. Repeat with remaining sticks.

Step 4: Allow to cool for a few minutes, then serve with marinara sauce!

Recipe Tips
- String Cheese: This will give you all those perfect cheese strings and all the bomb melt you want.
- Extra Credit: If you have the time. freeze the sticks before you add to your air fryer. At least 30 minutes will help that cheese not start melting right away.
- Press in the coating: It helps it stick better as it cooks.
