Ingredients
- Turkey or Pork Bacon: Whether youโre leaning toward a leaner vibe with turkey or going all out with classic pork, pick your favorite and get that bacon ready for a sweet makeover.
- Light Brown Sugar: Packed and ready to bring a molasses-rich sweetness
- Pure Maple Syrup: Drizzle that liquid gold, and letโs turn that bacon into a sweet stickiness
- Black Pepper: A crack of black pepper will give your sweet bacon that perfect kick.
Cooking Turkey Bacon in the Oven
Cooking turkey bacon is not difficult at all. How you cook it depends on how you like its texture. Do you like it chewy, crispy or somewhere in between? You can cook it in the microwave, on the stove top or in the oven. You change the turkey bacon’s texture by cooking it longer. I personally prefer to cook turkey bacon in the oven and I like my turkey bacon texture somewhere in between crispy and chewy. I keep the turkey bacon in the oven between 20-25 minutes to give it the mixed textured I mentioned.
How to Make Brown Sugar Bacon
- Get that Oven Hot: Crank it up to 375 degrees, weโre going for crispy perfection!
- Prep Your Pan: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for an easy cleanup and lay those bacon strips out with room to sizzle.
- Mix the Sweetness: In a small bowl, whip up your brown sugar and maple syrup until smooth.
- Brush and Sprinkle: Give each bacon strip a good brush of your sweet mix, then a sprinkle of black pepper for that kick.
- Bake till Crispy: Pop it in the oven for 20-25 minutes, keep an eye out for that perfect crisp.
How to Serve
This is such a great breakfast option to serve with some of the following:
Pork Bacon vs. Turkey Bacon
This recipe was made with this brand of turkey bacon but feel free to try it with pork as well. It is quite versatile and so easy to make. The texture of turkey bacon is very different from pork bacon, and it doesnโt get as wrinkly as pork bacon.
Also, turkey bacon is slightly more health than pork bacon but feel free to use whatever type of bacon you prefer. Whatever you use, this recipe will make you excited about the possibilities of bacon again.
Tips
- Evenly Brush: Apply the brown sugar and maple syrup mix uniformly on the bacon.
- Single Layer: Place bacon strips flat and without overlap for uniform crispiness.
- Monitor Cooking: Start checking at 15 minutes to avoid burning.
Storage
- Cool Before Storing: Let the bacon cool, then store in an airtight container with parchment paper between layers.
- Refrigerate or Freeze: Keep in the fridge for a few days or freeze for longer shelf life.
- Reheat in Oven: Warm it up in the oven at 350 degrees for the best texture.

I’ve had pork bacon with brown sugar, but never with maple syrup. This looks so good. My mom stopped eating pork way back in 1987 and I think this would be a great recipe for her. She recently discovered beef bacon and told me that it was good, so she would be happy to have a substitute for pork. If I stopped eating pork, I would miss bacon and Canadian bacon the most.
Wow I’ve never tried beef bacon before!
Gulp! Bacon? Yes… Brown sugar baked turkey bacon? ABSOLUTELY! These are delicious especially when paired with french toast pancakes. Yummm!
OMG those two together is absolute breakfast perfection!
Pork is somewhat regular for us, but we really eat more beef. Of course bacon is basically it’s own food group therefore an exception. ๐ Baking it is the best way! I love that you flavored it with brown sugar and maple – yum!
Gosh I love beef too Lindsay. Holy cow I do and bacon is definitely the exception.
Yeah, I could live on this. Looks so good!!
Same here Matt!
I’ve never had a chance to eat the swine and turkey bacon is my jam. So I love this recipe. Need to try it with my pancakes this weekend!
Smart girl. Turkey bacon is the bomb!
I don’t buy a lot of bacon, and when I do, I store it in the freezer and only use it as an ingredient. My kids wish I would make it more, but it’s kinda messy and I don’t like dealing with it. haha This turkey bacon is a whole other ballgame, and with that brown sugar it would be a sure fire hit! ๐
Oh yeah and the bacon totally eliminates all the mess!!
Okay, confession: I’ve never tried bacon before (I don’t eat pork), but I’ve been wanting to try turkey bacon for years. I never knew the best way to make it, though. This is totally inspiring me. I’m trying it!
OMG you must hurry up and try some turkey bacon!!!
Totally just learned something new about you that you don’t eat pork! I eat bacon, but besides that I’m not the biggest pork fan, but bacon, bacon I can EAT lol. Lately though I’ve been on a huge turkey bacon kick, and this brown sugar baked turkey bacon sounds fantastic, it will definitely be at the top of my list to make!
I love bacon! Pork or turkey. It’s all delicious in my opinion. I love that you sweetened this one up. And you baked it. How genius! I bet clean up was a breeze. Pinning this for sure!
Clean up was totally a breeze with this one!
