Notes
How to Store
- Fridge: You have leftovers? I’m impressed, boo! Let the garlic bread cool completely first. Then wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or foil, or place it in an airtight container. It will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Freezer: You can freeze garlic bread before or after baking. For unbaked bread, spread on the garlic butter, wrap tightly in plastic wrap, and freeze up to 3 months. For baked bread, wrap slices well and freeze up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.
- Reheating: Warm it in a 350°F oven for 10-15 minutes until heated through and crisp again. For a quick fix, wrap a slice in a damp paper towel and microwave for about 20 seconds.

Recipe Tips
- Grab a crusty loaf from the bakery section. I always use baguettes, but Italian bread, French bread, and ciabatta also get nice and crisp in the oven.
- Use fresh garlic. Do not, I repeat, do NOT use jarlic. It’s packed with preservatives and lacks that bold, fresh flavor. Grab a bulb and mince it yourself, boos!
- Mince it fine. Big chunks of garlic can be too much for chewing. Chop it down real fine so it melts right into the butter.
- Soften the butter. Room temp butter blends everything together smoothly.

Recipe Help
Y’all gotta make sure you bake it long enough so it gets crispy. Check to make sure the bread is super toasty on the sides and golden brown on top before removing from the oven.
For sure boos! Just assemble the bread with the butter spread, wrap super well and pop in the fridge or freezer. Follow the rest of the baking instructions when you are ready to bake. It will need to bake a bit longer if you are baking from frozen however.
How much is a stick of butter 454 grams?
Hi Believe, a stick is the same as 1/2 cup so your grams should match that. Let me know if you have any more questions.

This was excellent and made our lasagna Christmas dinner extra special. My father are 6 slices!! I’m making it again tonight to go with Pasta Fajoili soup.
Hooray I am so glad it turned out so well for you! Thank you Rheba! Happy New Year!
Can i use garlic salt instead of garlic powder?
Yes you can but it will definitely change the flavor and up the salt content.
I’ve been teaching my daughter aged 14 to cook so she can be self sufficient when she goes to college and beyond. I’ve encouraged her to learn to make those dishes that she loves; then she’ll be more motivated to cook. We made your absolutely fabulous garlic bread tonight along with my daughter’s favorite broccoli cheese soup. The flavor of the garlic bread was simply divine. I’ve tried a lot of recipes for garlic bread since I had never made it before. We used to buy it from the store but nothing is as good as homemade. Thank you so much!
Sylvia, I am so glad you love this recipe. It is truly my favorite bread to make!!!
Hooray! Finally a homemade garlic bread recipe that sounds like cakewalk! Trying this tomorrow morning!

Thank you for this recipe, I myself love Texas Toast, just clipped a coupon from the paper. Found your recipe this afternoon while making spaghetti for Sunday brunch instead of pancakes/waffles. OMG!!!! They were good didn’t have bakery bread so had to use regular whole wheat slice bread, they were still awesome. Making extra butter to take to work tomorrow stopping by the grocery store in the morning and grabbing some fresh bread for potluck… I was to bring plates, cups, and flatware. But so bringing this to add with the various pasta dishes my coworkers are bringing.
This is wonderful! It’s the best I’ve ever tasted. I add mozzarella too.
Hooray Jen! I am so glad you enjoyed it! The mozzarella sounds fantastic!
