Ingredients to Make Pineapple Milkshakes

Ingredients to make a pineapple milkshake on the table before making.
  • Vanilla Ice Cream โ€“ Go for good quality vanilla ice cream! It really does make a difference in the taste.
  • Pineapple Sherbet โ€“ Same for the sherbet, real fruit with non-crappy ingredients so you can actually get a real pineapple taste, not an artificial one!
  • Crushed Pineapple โ€“ A quarter cup of crushed pineapple coming at ya! Make sure itโ€™s packed tight and drained. We want all the flavor, not a watery mess.
  • Milk โ€“ Hereโ€™s where you play it your way: half a cup for a thick, spoon-up shake, or a full cup if you like it a bit more sippable.
  • Ground Cinnamon โ€“ Just a pinch, yโ€™all. This is the secret warmth that ties it all together, a little spice to make everything nice. (sorry y’all, I am feeling punny today! ha!)
  • Caramel Sauce โ€“ Drizzle in a tablespoon of caramel sauce. Itโ€™s like that final touch that makes you say, โ€œOh yeah, thatโ€™s what Iโ€™m talking about!โ€
  • Optional Garnishes โ€“ And donโ€™t forget to jazz it up! Fresh whipped cream, cake crumbles, chopped pineapple, extra caramel, or even a cherry on top.

How to Make Pineapple Milkshakes

A collage of images showing the steps for making a pineapple shake.
  1. Add the vanilla ice cream, pineapple sherbet, crushed pineapple, milk, ground cinnamon, and caramel sauce to the steel mixing cup of your drink mixer.
  2. Blend it until smooth. Add more milk if you prefer milkshakes a bit thinner and mix again.
  3. Pour the milkshake into two glasses.
  4. Garnish your pineapple shake with the toppings of your liking.

Tips for Making the Best Pineapple Milkshake

  • Pick the Right Ice Cream. Donโ€™t skimp on the quality of the ice cream! Grab a cup of the richest, creamiest vanilla ice cream you can find. This is the backbone of your milkshake, so go for brokeโ€”something with real vanilla. Don’t play with the fake artificial stuff.
  • Glass Game Strong. Get those glasses cold! Toss them in the freezer for a bit before you pour. This hack keeps your shake thick and frosty longer.
  • Blend Like a Pro. Now, letโ€™s talk blendingโ€”start slow then kick it up to high. Gradually increasing the speed avoids over-beating, which keeps everything thick and lush.
  • Milk It Just Right. Thick or thin, itโ€™s all about how you like it. Adjust the milk to get your perfect shake: less milk for thick, spoon-ready goodness, or more for a lighter, drinkable treat. Begin with the minimum recommendation and tweak from there.
  • Add Other Fruit: Bananas, berries, papaya, and mango all go great with the flavors of pineapple.
  • Dairy-Free: Swap the vanilla ice cream for your fave dairy-free brand, replace the sherbet with pineapple sorbet, dairy-free caramel sauce, and use coconut milk or another non-dairy milk in the shake.
  • Fresh Pineapple: Replace the crushed pineapple with fresh instead. Choose a very ripe pineapple for maximum sweetness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make a pineapple milkshake without a drink mixer or high-speed blender?

For sure, you might find it difficult to use a regular blender as it’s pretty thick, but a food processor works well to blend up the creamy ice cream along with the rest of the ingredients. If all you have is a regular blender, you will likely need to add more milk to help it blend up.

How can you fix a runny milkshake?

If after mixing you find your milkshake isn’t thick enough, you can add some additional ice cream or sherbet to thicken it. Add a couple of tablespoons at a time and blend it together. Keep repeating until it reaches the desired consistency.
